Shipping

Two timings, not one

Almost every “where is my order” question comes down to one confusion, so we will be explicit about it. There are two separate clocks:

Processing time is how long we take to pick, check and pack your order before it leaves us. Transit time is how long the carrier then takes to bring it to you.

The total wait is the two added together. A carrier quoting three-day delivery does not start counting until the parcel is in their hands.

Processing time

1 to 2 business days.

Orders placed before 2pm Eastern on a business day usually go out the same day or the next. Orders placed after that, or at a weekend, or on a public holiday, begin processing on the next business day.

We check every item before it ships — seals, dates, and piece counts on sets. That is where the day goes, and we are not going to skip it to save a few hours.

Transit time

Once dispatched, from our warehouse in Georgia:

Service Typical transit
Standard 3 to 7 business days
Expedited 2 to 3 business days

These are the carrier's working estimates, not guarantees. Weather, holiday peaks and carrier backlogs all move them. The south-east arrives quickest, the west coast takes longest.

What it costs

Shipping is calculated at checkout from the weight of your order and the address you enter. You will see the exact figure before you pay. There are no charges added afterwards.

Where we ship

United States only at present, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. We ship to PO boxes and to APO/FPO addresses via USPS.

We do not currently ship internationally. If you are outside the USA and want something, write to us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Tracking

You will get a confirmation email when you order, and a second email with a tracking number when the parcel leaves us. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to show movement — a number that shows nothing yet usually means the carrier has scanned the label but not collected the parcel.

If tracking has not moved in 5 business days, tell us. That is long enough to be a genuine problem rather than a slow scan.

Packages marked delivered but not found

This happens, and it is worth working through in order before assuming the worst:

  1. Check around the property — porches, side doors, sheds, behind planters.
  2. Ask your household and immediate neighbours.
  3. Check whether the carrier left a notice, or took it to a collection point.
  4. Wait 24 hours. Carriers sometimes scan a parcel as delivered before it is actually dropped, and it turns up the following day.

If it has not appeared after that, contact us within 7 days of the delivery scan. We will open a trace with the carrier, which takes them up to 10 business days.

Where a carrier confirms the parcel was lost or misdelivered, we replace it or refund it. Where a carrier confirms delivery to the correct address and the parcel was then taken, that is theft rather than a shipping failure, and it sits outside what we can recover from the carrier. We are not going to pretend otherwise in a policy and then argue about it later. What we will do is help you file a claim, and we will look at each case on its facts — a small family business can use judgement in a way a large one cannot. If parcel theft is a known problem where you live, ship to a work address or a collection point.

Address errors

The address you enter at checkout is the address we print. Please read it back before you pay, because we cannot verify that an address is yours — only that it exists.

  • Caught before dispatch: email us immediately and we will correct it at no charge.
  • Caught after dispatch: we cannot redirect a parcel that is already moving. Some carriers permit it directly, and we will give you the tracking details so you can try.
  • Returned to us as undeliverable: we will refund the order less the original shipping cost, or reship to a corrected address once you have paid the second postage.
  • Delivered to an incorrect address you supplied: unfortunately we cannot recover it, and we cannot refund it. This is the one case where the cost genuinely falls to the customer, and it is the reason we ask you to check.

Delays outside our control

Severe weather, carrier strikes, national holidays and public emergencies all delay deliveries and none of them are ours to fix. We will keep you informed and chase the carrier. We do not refund shipping charges for delays of this kind.

Wholesale and freight

Case and pallet quantities ship on their own terms, quoted with the order. Lead times are usually longer than retail and depend on quantity. Ask when you enquire, and we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.
